This 6 week introductory course is a continuation of the Beginners Course or those with experience in other mediums who would like to use oil paints.
Over the course you will learn to paint with oil paints through a range exercises designed to teach you the fundamentals and gain confidence week
by week. This class is for beginners and those wishing to refresh their skills.

PORTRAIT PAINTING IN OILS / WORKSHOP / 29 SEPT - 1 OCT / 2025

In this 3 day oil painting class students will paint a portrait from life. Students
will be taken through various steps from painting a monotone through to a colour study in oils. Learn how to observe light, tone and form - and be shown a method of tonal painting to capture a likeness using a limited palette. Suitable This for students with experience in oils or those wishing to refresh their skills.
Not suitable for beginners.

In this still-life painting class learn how to bring a sense of reality and atmosphere to your work. Over this 2 day workshop learn the fundamentals
of tonal painting by observing light, tone and proportion. You will start with
a monochrome and learn how to mix colours, and be taken through a series
of exercises and demonstrations to build on skills. This workshop is also a
great option for those wishing to refresh their skills.

LEARN TO DRAW AND PAINT PORTRAITS / 2025 / TBC

This painting class is for students who want to learn how to paint portraits well.
In this class you will learn skills required to produce accurate and meaningful portraits through a series of exercises. Throughout the planned exercises, Marie works with each student at his/her own level, and works to progress each student’s ambitions. Students will benefit from doing tonal studies and colour mixing, and will cater for students who wish to improve their painting skills using oils.
This class is for students with prior experience in their chosen medium.
