In this still-life painting class learn how to bring a sense of reality and atmosphere to your work. Over this eight week course learn the fundamentals of tonal painting by observing light, tone and proportion. You will start with monochrome studies, then learn how to mix colours, and be taken through a series of exercises and demonstrations to build on skills designed to teach you the fundamentals and gain confidence week by week.
This class is for beginners and those wishing to refresh their skills.

This is a mentored oil painting class for adults who wish to advance their practice and refine their skills. The class encourages students to further explore their own ideas and technique. In this eight week course you can continue to develop the techniques of tonal painting and further your experience on how to observe light and add atmosphere to your work by either using your own set-up or reference material. This class encourages you to further explore your own practice and technique while connecting with other artists.

LEARN TO DRAW AND PAINT PORTRAITS / 2025 / TBC

This painting class is for students who want to learn how to paint portraits well.
In this class you will learn skills required to produce accurate and meaningful portraits through a series of exercises. Throughout the planned exercises, Marie works with each student at his/her own level, and works to progress each student’s ambitions. Students will benefit from doing tonal studies and colour mixing, and will cater for students who wish to improve their painting skills using oils.
This class is for students with prior experience in their chosen medium.
